“Pagal Baba”
Born as Shri Kalicharan Chakraborty in Balta Ratanganj, India, in a noble Brahmin family. His father and mother, Smt. Annapurna Devi, were ardent Krishna bhaktas. While other children played, young Kalicharan would sit in solitude, smiling and singing the Lord's name — lost in a secret communion with Govinda.
Walking in Mankeychar (Dhubri) market, he hailed "O Chiranji!" — an unknown businessman Shri Chiranji Lal ji. Frozen in awe, he listened: "Arrange space for first Hari Naam Kirtan." A humble shed with bamboo, tin sheets, and two Swayambhu Radha Govind vigraha became the first temple. Villagers called him 'pagal' dancing with a limp. He entered sadhana for 7 days — emerged with no limp, holding a red rumal. Miracle manifested.
Baba Shree always taught: "Chant Harinam, live with kindness, nurture family values." When he met the childless Principal Shri Sarkar and his wife, he lovingly asked her to be his mother. Till their last breath, they served him with selfless love — now venerated as Ashram Maa & Ashram Daddu by millions of devotees worldwide.
1954, Mohammad Ali Park: With only ₹800 collected for ground booking, Baba announced non-stop Bhandara for millions for 21 days! Food & supplies arrived from unknown sources. He explained the glory of Bharatiya culture, Astha Chakra and salvation through non-stop Harinam Kirtan without caste or creed distinction.

Donate & Support SevaPagal Baba questioned why millions flock to Agra's tomb of the dead, ignoring the divine, ever-awakening Vrindavan. To answer, he built Lila Bagh — a seven-story marble temple with living quarters for God and devotees. A masterpiece of architecture, standing tall as a beacon of eternal love. Today, Lila Bagh remains a spiritual powerhouse, resonating with non-stop kirtan.
In 1980, Sant Shiromani Pagal Baba took Samadhi, but his mission lives on. The trust board, guided by his own signature and trust deed, continues to manage temples, hospitals, and free kitchens. Devotees from across the globe still feel his living presence.
"Remember Radha Govind by chanting Harinam Kirtan, live with kindness, and nurture family values." He never asked for renunciation but for devotion in everyday life. His legacy: non-stop kirtan, universal brotherhood, and free medical service.
The one who danced with a limp, then healed by sadhana; the one who fed millions without funds; the one who built marble palaces for God and hospitals for the poor — he remains the eternal guiding star.
"Just by sitting in his presence, worries vanished. His Harinam still vibrates in the seven temples and echoes in every patient's healing smile."
