The famous devotee Sant Shiromani Shrimad Leelanand Thakur who also known as Pagal Baba son of revered father’s name Shri Kalicharan Chakraborty and the revered mother’s name Smt. Annapurna Devi was born in in high Brahmin family at Balta Ratanganj,India.His revered father’s name was Shri Kalicharan Chakraborty and the revered mother’s name was Smt. Annapurna Devi.His family backgroung is very devotional and all are very devotee of Lord Krishna.He was a famous saint living his life and worshiping through bhajans in Banke Bihari temple.
Shri Leelanad Thakur, also known as “Pagal Baba,” constructed this temple out of his deep devotion to Lord Krishna. People started calling him “Pagal Baba” because of his great love for Lord Krishna. One side of the temple houses the tomb of Pagal Baba. The temple is also famous for its puppet show exhibition on the ground floor, where stories from the Indian epics Mahabharat and Ramayana are performed.
Every year, thousands of devotees from all over the country and abroad visit Pagal Baba Temple. It is believed that every wish made with a true heart at this temple will come true.
